I struggled to understand why despite going to the gym three times per week (and following what I now know were at best generic, non-thought out programmes supplied by young apprentices in the fitness industry), I wasn’t achieving my one goal of having a six-pack like Cristiano Ronaldo. I’ve been a member of RX2 Fitness for a year now. After just five minutes of our first meeting, I knew Roy was the coach for me – it was a BS-free zone and I was at ease with him very quickly. I was a total novice in the gym and Roy has helped me get my confidence up massively in and out of the gym.

My mobility now is a world away from what it used to be, and the same goes for my strength. I know Roy has spent a lot of time on my workouts and training programmes; they are not just copy and pasted off the web, complete with all the BS that goes along with them.

Roy’s simplified approach has definitely made obtaining my goals a reality.

Through receiving feedback and recognition by way of progress shots, measurements and group chats, his reputation as a top coach is well deserved. I started following Roy on Instagram earlier this year and I found his posts and stories refreshing from the usual jargon-filled nonsense that a lot of the fitness industry spout on social media.

I joined the Fast Track to Fitness programme in November, which was perfectly timed with my own plan to get back into the gym and shed some unwanted weight. I absorbed all the kick-off information and received a plan based on my goals, measurements and ability. I have a gym membership so was able to take a plan which utilised their equipment, but I was aware that home-based workouts were also an option.

For me personally, his approach to the nutritional element of the plan was invaluable. It allowed me to relax my preconceived ideas about what I should be eating to assist losing weight and instead focus on the overall calorie content I was consuming.

After six weeks I shed over 4kgs and am moving more efficiently and with greater strength in the gym thanks to his tips on stretching and squatting. And all this was achieved while still managing to enjoy the ‘silly season’ with nights out and Christmas parties.

I still have a little more weight I want to shift and I’m confident with the knowledge and tools Roy has given me I will achieve this into the new year and beyond.
