As a personal trainer, I signed up with Roy with the plan of building strength and lose fat, effectively, without resorting to extemes.

My plan was to see him short term, gain more knowledge and confidence, and carry on myself with the possibility of checking back in in future.This is exactly what I got and am so glad I went ahead with it.

Roy worked in a way that suited me perfectly, I didn’t feel the need to check in religiously, and felt no pressure to.  He took into account my own commitments and that I would it in a way that worked for me.

He worked around what I wanted to focus on in the most constructive way. When I did meet up it was motivating, educational, and funny. I was encouraged to push myself, without any yelling, or feeling like I was being interviewed for the navy seals, which worked for me. Very approachable and an all round informative and great experience.

I joined 8 weeks to lean to expand my knowledge on food and diet as I knew absolutely nothing apart from taking a protein shake. 

The program has really opened my eyes to how important diet is to compliment the training.

I was given a huge amount of info that aided me in achieving fat loss and gaining strength. I would–and already have–recommended this program to anyone who asks why I haven’t demolished that second helping of sticky toffee pudding.

Also if anyone needed pre-program advice i would say maybe to do a bit of pre-program study on food and dieting as the more you read the more questions you have, and the more questions you get answered the more you learn.

I cannot recommend RX2 Fitness and Roy Ritchie enough. 

I joined up to 8 weeks to lean program hoping I would get a meal and exercise plan to shift 15 kilos of baby weight, gain some strength and energy, and be a fun, active and alive mother for my children. 

I’d tried diets before, and a starvation, vegan, expensive smoothie, chia seed only, grass diet is not sustainable for me. 

I was stuck in a rut with my waistline sWhat I got an abundance of resources, information and support about how I should be eating and moving. It was above and beyond any expectations I had for this type of thing.

During the 8 weeks I lost almost 5 kilos, 11cms off my stomach and more everywhere else, and gained actual for real biceps. I also made connections with others in the group, sharing recipes, food ideas, workout tips, with lots of overall support and great banter. I did all this from another country, because of the great online options. I truly understand now what it takes to be healthy and happy. 

For anyone serious about learning about nutrition and movement, and willing to make the change for the better, then this is the group for you. If I can do it, anyone can!

I first met Roy at a nutrition seminar at the Warehouse Gym in Aberdeen and I was impressed by his knowledge and his ethos to dieting.

I was stuck in a rut with my waistline slowly increasing and my gym time becoming less and less productive (i.e. fewer visits with no plan – usually resulting in me moving from empty machine to empty machine avoiding any real hard work)

 I reached out to Roy for his help and we had a chat about my current situation, goals, previous injuries/training and what I was prepared to do.

Roy set me up with a tailored training plan (4 workouts a week) and a nutrition guide with several online spreadsheets to track my progress (body stats, calories, workouts etc.). Being new to several of the free weight exercises was no problem since the workouts are linked to video tutorials showing you how to do them properly.

Roy knows his stuff and set me up perfectly, educating me on nutrition, exercise and debunks several internet/tv myths as they do the rounds.  He’s always on hand to answer questions no matter how silly they may seem and he adds humour to his communications which are always backed up by research/science.

I’m blown away by the results, being over 50 I figured I was in for a long hard slog but was shocked by my body stats. I’m feeling better than my 30’s and 40’s! 

This has been a life changer , so much so I had redo my measurements again to convince myself they were right. I’ve lost 7 kilos and inches in my waist and hips, while still getting stronger. I’ve gotten pb’s in all my lifts (not surprising since I wasn’t really trying) but also in my parkruns , beating my time of several years ago.

I’ve never felt like I was on a diet or trying to cut back on anything, I’ve just made better choices, tracked my calories properly and adjusted portion sizes where needed. Over time learning more about habits and intuitive methods.

It’s been the kick up the bum I needed to push myself out of my comfort zone and do some hard work in the gym, backed up by the improvements in my nutrition, the results speak for themselves.

I am a client of Roy’s through the 8 Weeks to Lean programme and could not recommend this, or him, enough.

I signed up because I’ve gained quite a bit of weight steadily over the last 4 or so years and enough was enough.

I’d worked with other PT’s before and would make small changes, but I never understood what or why I was doing it. This is where things changed with working with Roy.

I’m not sure what I was expecting but I’d followed Roy for a few years on Instagram and I liked his approach to things. No bullshit. I also joined after having spoken to someone who previously did one of these with Roy who had progressed well. 

In the now near 8 weeks not only have I dropped over 8 kilos, I’ve been sleeping better, I have more energy, I’m back doing lots of walking and I’m lifting weights again which I’ve actually really missed. Everything has been explained to a T. I’ve never not understood or known why I’m doing anything or making the changes I’ve made throughout the 8 weeks and I generally all round feel better and look better.

Although this is a group coaching program, Roy is always on hand to answer any questions too should you have any, despite having his 1-2-1 clients to help. I would 100% recommend this to anyone who wants to make some changes. I can’t wait to continue on using my knowledge and see where it takes me.
